Are there other gods? Psalm 82 is one of the most mysterious passages in Scripture — God standing in the divine council, passing judgment on “gods.” But who are these gods? Are they real? Are they just human rulers? And what does this passage reveal about God’s justice, power, and ultimate authority? In this fascinating episode of “That’s a Good Question,” host Jon Delger, the Multiplication Pastor at Peace Church and Ryan Kimmel, the Lead Pastor at Peace, break down the Hebrew text, trace its connections to the rest of Scripture, and uncover what God is really saying in this courtroom scene. If Psalm 82 challenges your theology, good. It should. Because once you see what’s actually happening in this passage, you can’t unsee it.
